Swannington Village Hall

The Swannington Village Hall was built in 1932/33 by local builder JG Lidwell and Sons, for the then Miners Welfare Group. In 1949, the Trustees of the Swannington Miners Welfare Committee assigned the lease of the land and building to the Parish Council who undertook to use the benefit of the residents of the parish.

In December 1974 an order was approved approving the sale of the property by Wyggeston Hospital for £275 for the freehold of 1,820 square yards leased for the Village Hall and 370 square yards for the strip of land giving access to the car park.

The Parish Council compromises of three rooms, two kitchens, a bar area and toilets including disabled.
